About number lines
A lot of early maths runs on number lines. Evenly spaced ticks start at 0 and run across the page, with optional sub-ticks between them and numbers underneath. Stack several down the sheet and set how many divisions each one has.
Several number lines stack down the page so a class can work through a row of problems on one sheet. Each line runs from a start value with evenly spaced major ticks and optional sub-ticks between them, which makes it easy to demonstrate jumps for addition, subtraction and skip-counting.
For fractions and decimals, increase the number of divisions between whole numbers so values sit in exactly the right place. Because the ticks are evenly spaced in real units, the intervals stay honest whatever range you choose.
